This week on Xplor the Outdoors with Jim and Patti I will be broadcasting LIVE from the Glendale Cabela’s just east of the 101 and Glendale Ave. in celebration of Cabela’s Fall Great Outdoor Days.
During the first hour Bug Band President and sponsor Dan Ritter will be joining me in the first segment, with some valuable information for keeping the bugs off of you with all the standing water from the monsoons and everyone heading into the back country for the opening of archery deer season. Dan has just the thing for you.
Next up, Dr. Gary Wolfe from the Vital Ground Organization will be on hand with an update about Grizzly Bear Habitat and new programs that are coming up with this “get it done” organization that has a $75,000 matching fund campaign in progress to help protect and enhance vital grizzly bear habitat.
To finish out the first hour, Mark Stewart, from the Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking your help with an unsolved poaching case that occured in June of this year in the White Tank Mountains. With the information that I received I felt it important that we discuss this case on the air to see if maybe someone might have seen something. I understand that there may be a reward available. Then in the second hour, I’ll be talking to some of the outfitters here at Cabela’s. Ron Elliot will be joining me to talk bird hunting and then we’re going fishing with Paul Humphreys and of course we’re talking archery with the Cabela’s expert, Marco Coronado. Don’t forget the sales that are going on right here at the Cabela’s on Glendale Ave. just east of the 101.
Next week Patti and I will be broadcasting live from Lake Merced in San Francisco as they introduce 5000 trout into the lake and re-establish that lake as one of the “Fishing in the City” destinations of San Francisco, along with Cal Trout, The American Fisheries and the Public Utilities Commission.
