OUTDOOR RADIO SHOW HOST RECEIVES AWARD OF VALOR

Jim Solomon, host of Xplor the Southwest outdoor radio show,
received the Valorous Conduct Award, from the City of Phoenix on Friday, June 9th 2006, for his part in the apprehension of an armed car thief in May of 2005.

Solomon recalls working out at his apartment complex when he noticed an extremely large individual running across the parking lot, chasing after him was a female police officer.
After running out of the weight room and around the corner, he ran into the officer and the gentleman on the ground in front him. Not giving it a second thought Solomon dove on top of the individual and proceeded to wrestle one of his arms behind his back.
What seemed like forever, Solomon, the female officer and another officer were able to subdue the individual.
“We had just lost an officer a few days before to an alleged car thief, explained Solomon, I wasn’t about to let that happen again”. Solomon did suffer a shoulder injury during the incident.
