ENVIRON-Metal, Inc. Introduces HEVI-ShotÆ Classic Doubles – Safe for Vintage Guns!
ENVIRON-Metal, Inc., makers of HEVI-ShotÆ high performance shotshells, announced today a new line of shotshells incorporating pellets that are designed and optimized for the softer barrels of classic sporting shotguns.
Until now, waterfowlers hunting with classic firearms (older fixed-choke and vintage guns) risked barrel damage unless they used soft Bismuth pellets from Bismuth Cartridge Company. Compared to pellets used in Bismuth ammunition, the new pellets in the HEVI-ShotÆ Classic Doubles products are:
Deeper penetrating because they don’t deform
Higher Performance – with each shotshell buffered and sealed to ensure World Record patterning and penetration.

ENVIRON-Metal will produce the shotshells and the patented pellets in its Sweet Home, Oregon plant. “This is the next big materials science contribution we can make to the ammunition business,” said Ralph Nauman, president. “Surprisingly, it is an outgrowth of our revolutionary Dead Coyote!Æ technology. It has the same lethality benefits, but offers lower speeds and pressures for older guns.”
Nauman believes this kind of innovation will keep ENVIRON-Metal at the front of the premium shotshell business. “These kinds of new world-beater products are the reasons why everyone has a HEVI-ShotÆ story,” he said.
